AsiaInfo Signs Channel Management System Contract With Shanghai Mobile

BEIJING and SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 20, /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc. , a leading provider of telecom software solutions and security products and services in China, today announced that it has signed a Phase II Channel Management System contract with Shanghai Mobile.

Shanghai Mobile's Phase II Channel Management System will add geographic information and statistical data to the Phase I System that AsiaInfo also constructed. The existing system allows Shanghai Mobile to manage sales network information including sales orders, commission calculations, resource allocation, testing and system authorization.

Steve Zhang, AsiaInfo's President and CEO said, ''Using AsiaInfo's leading channel management system, Shanghai Mobile will be able to perform on-line inquiries to evaluate sales channel performance and ensure that consistent and high quality services are delivered to customers. Steve Zhang noted that telecom operators depend on extensive third party sales networks to deliver services and generate business, and consequently network management capability is crucial to success.

China Mobile has launched a nation-wide initiative that requires all provincial offices to establish a channel management system to control the three fundamental elements of channel establishment, channel operation and channel management.
