Puppet Labs Announces Integrations With Microsoft Azure and Visual Studio

Integrations Help Customers Realize the Benefits of DevOps in Heterogeneous Enterprise IT Environments

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/03/14 -- Puppet Labs, the leading provider of IT automation software, today announced at Build 2014 a strategic relationship with Microsoft to integrate Puppet Enterprise with Microsoft Azure and Visual Studio 2013 Professional and Ultimate, providing developers and IT operations teams a simple way to deploy and manage infrastructure across physical and virtual machines, on private infrastructure, or in the public cloud.

With the Puppet Enterprise and Azure integration, joint customers can easily deploy virtual machines from the Azure Gallery that are configured and managed by Puppet Enterprise. Additionally, a free Puppet Enterprise trial is now available on the Azure Gallery through May 31, 2014 to help Azure customers quickly deploy a pre-configured Puppet Master image.

The Visual Studio 2013 Professional and Ultimate for Puppet plugin provides developers a simple way to write and validate Puppet modules -- powerful configurations that can automate systems, applications, and devices -- and then publish them directly to the Puppet Forge, a repository of 2,100 readily available modules contributed by Puppet community members.

With Puppet Enterprise, Windows developers and administrators can manage heterogeneous environments with a single solution, easing cross-team collaboration, and helping organizations realize the agility and efficiency of DevOps.
