Vyoma Nair, Co-founder of Nair & Co., will advise U.S. financial professionals on Tax strategies for investments in developed and frontier economies at the 8th Annual Tax Practices for Private Equity Funds conference on October 23-24, 2008 at the The Harmonie Club in New York City.

Nairs first panel Tax Strategies and Best Practices for Reducing Tax Burdens in Developed Economies is on October 23, 11:30 am. In this session, the Oxford-educated executive will discuss strategies for setting up overseas operations, regulations, reporting and withholding strategies that U.S. companies need to know.

At 1:30 pm on October 23 will be another session featuring Nair called Understanding Fundamental Tax Practices in Frontier Economies. The discussion will present key insights on investment in Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC), and how these economies can bring the best tax benefits to your fund.

Nair, an authority in risk assessment, also speaks on hazards and shortcomings not yet realized in these frontier economies.

Nair has over 25 years of experience with finance, legal and human resources in foreign subsidiaries. Her first involvement in this area was in 1984 when she played a lead role in enabling a major U.S. insurer to extricate itself from a failed U.K. acquisition. Her career roles include working for Peat Marwick Mitchell and Company (now part of KPMG), Horwarth and Horwarth International (Stoy Hayward and Company in the UK), and Nair & Co., which she founded alongside husband Dr. Shan Nair in 1994.
